3 Steps To Living A More Balanced Life

People struggle with balancing work, family and social life. We struggle balancing what foods to eat and when to eat them. How to keep our hormones and emotions in check and so much more.  I’m no expert with balancing my life. To be honest, my hand will be the first one up if you asked me if I needed help in some of these departments. BUT I have found some ways to keep my life in somewhat of an order and want to share some of my experiences with you.

Say "NO"

When your life is overflowing with activities, work, kids, social gathering, credit card debt, ect, you will not be able to achieve the balance you are looking for. It is O.K to say no to that play date, to that party, that pair of shoes you thought you may need, to that extra work your boss wants you to put in at home..on your time. It is O.K to say NO to the things that do not bring value to your life. The things that are not essential.

So today, break free from that "YES" that has been holding you back and say NO to the things that are no longer serving you

Minimize Toxins

When we fill our home with toxic chemicals and our life with toxic people, we create stress, sickness and overall poor health.

I want to encourage you to look at the ingredients in the products you pick up and use. Your shampoos, makeup, hand soap, laundry soaps, cleaner, ect. Look at these ingredients and ask yourself the question "are these beneficial to my health"?

Look for ingredients like SLS, formaldehyde, parabens, fragrance...the list goes on.

The transition from conventional, toxic products to plant based, toxic free products can be easy.  You can get my guide on cleaning tips here.

Toxic people can wreak havoc on our mental and emotional health. I personally know from experience, when your emotional and mental health is off, it does not allow you to have balance in your life. It's time to consider avoiding complainers, whiners and people who have poor attitudes. If you can't avoid, minimize your time spent around them. It's time you surround yourself with positive, supportive, can-do people.

It can't be done in one day friends, it's a lifestyle change but it's worth it.

Pay Attention

It’s something we are not doing enough, paying attention to our own health. We often get caught up in everything else around us that we put ourselves on the back burner. We know it’s important but we never seem to put ourselves on the top of our priority list, until we have a health crisis. Heck, I'm totally guilty for it!

Our health hands down, affects the quality of our lives and of our work. When we are happy and healthy, when we eat a balanced diet and get enough sleep, we are far more productive and have a clear picture on what we need to do.

Pay attention to your sleep. This is a huge part of staying healthy. Not enough sleep leaves you with a foggy mind and a lack of ambition. Set your alarm at night to remind yourself to go to bed. Otherwise you may get caught up in your work or if you're a gamer like my boyfriend, down the rabbit hole of gaming. Write out your thoughts. Get what you're thinking out on paper in one big mind dump so that you can, hopefully, fall asleep without all those thoughts running through your mind.
